Let the sun and light come streaming

On Monday Trey, Brian and I went out for a drive and ended up downtown. I had a great time and managed to relax quite a bit. Might add more later but this is it for now…

Into my life, into my life

Today’s Song: Goodbye Blue Sky - Floyd
Thought for the day: No matter how close to home you are, there are always new things to discover.

Time meant nothing, never would again

We had a LAN this presidents day. Thanks to all who came. It was a lot of fun! LANs are now starting to be less about gaming and more about hanging out. I think the next party were going to have is going to be a non LAN one. Lights, music, food, staying up late, movies too, but no computers to worry about or gaming. Ill still host an occasional LAN but don’t expect one soon.

I also want to congratulate the group that went to Rocky. Some stayed at the LAN others went for a few hours. Those of you who wont, you know who you are, were awesome. Most played in the virgin games even! Hope you all learned to open up and maybe even see the world in another light. To those of you who didn’t go I encourage you to.

I was very immersed especially with the speedy one who didn’t want to go but then, participated, had fun, and even got his first kiss and a speedy one at that. Also to pot for that amazing french…

The most interesting part of going to rocky was talking to Robert afterward. H e didn’t go and “And the only one who won’t go there by principle” After relaxing and opening up so much it is amusing to talk to someone who has society so very dearly prized.

We waste our lives on society, a mix of idealistic views passed across eons, many of which nowadays don’t even make sense. This social obligation is ever present in the world and is drilled into us all our lives. It is sad to see this firm social ideology manifest itself in youth.

This is why our world is so angry. A third of the people praise society and tradition so highly they act based on archaic beliefs ignoring the present and future. Others rebel and act counter to society (drugs, gongs, graffiti) which is a paradoxial manifestation of the very society they rebel from. These rebels ignore the future and the past and live for the moment. Others still, live for the future getting money and also following the third string of social conduct. These fortune seekers see only the future and muck up the past and present. (Talked about more in this post.)

While a multitude of degrees of the three aspects exist, I have yet to find someone who is even close to being balanced. If we changed and grew while remembering past mistakes and making sure to build a future that is when as a species could we reach peace and cooperation. When the youth of this nation are afraid to experiment and bash those who do, many parents feel relief. Yet it is those concepts that are hurting the world.

“Next thing ur going to tell me is its ok to be gay?” - Robert

Saying that Java is nice because it works on all OSs is like saying that anal sex is nice because it works on all genders

Every year is getting shorter

Things in life have a funny way of changing. Most fear change others crave it. I try to see change as inevitable and to just accept it. This is easier said then done. Human nature seems to be to both strive for progress and to cling to the past. There is nothing to fear from the future. The future does not cure or break rather it is the actions of today that make the difference.

People take an interesting stance an either look to the future as the ultimate cure (”time heals all wounds”) or the radically opposite position of time being the great Satan washing away all good.

The reality of time is that it goes by no matter what you think of it. We can sit and watch each minute tick by or ignore it completely and exactly the same amount of time will pass. The relativity that we often experience in the flow time is not metaphysical, it is merely the perspective we take on it. What we are currently doing is what determines where we will be not some outside force.

This comes down to the theory of living for the moment. Living for this minute and this second is a good way to live. Rather then expect something better later on make something better now. However many push this concept too far and guarantee themselves a hopeless future.

We all have a set amount of time to us. Until the second we die none of us get to know how long that is. To achieve true happiness the best we can do is use that time most efficiently. By balancing the future and the present only then do we have a chance for happiness.

Since my blog is supposed to reflect my opinions and my last post was a rather hasty judgement I replaced it with this post. I kept the pic cause it still reflects my mood.

Take the time to look at the lyrics. These specifically fit to the topic.

Today’s Song: Time - Pink Floyd
Thought for the day: The point of life is to cash in on the time we have and use it as efficiently as possible.

The Great Beyond

I have some general updates. I have decided to spend more time on touching up some old websites I did. In order to do this I started by redoing my index on mikrasov.com. I lost the original psd so I now have a ghetto intro screen as opposed to my slightly fancier one. Fortunately I made this one really easy to update so I added some new links to it and temporarily removed some of the old ones.

The main achievement is that I am working on an online gallery of downloadable photos for your enjoyment. I am going to be putting some of my better pictures on there. The program I’m using has kind of a neat navigation system too so you will be able to sort the pictures in a veriaty of ways. The pictures are going to be in 1024 x 767 (sry about the one pixel).

Feel free to use these pics as wallpapers or any non-profit project. Just please make sure to give me credit since it is hard to get good shots.

Oh and all newer pictures are taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4800 at 4.0 megapixel 1 to 2 compression.

Eagle Flew out of the Night

Today’s Song: Solsbury Hill -Peter Gabriel
Thought for the day: It is so weird that out of the billions of possible combinations, everywhere you seem to go, the people end up being connected.
